Ordinary Women Doing What They Do
May 4, 2022 - Written by Dorothy "Louise" Beasley
So a friend of mine was asking what to write about with regards to being a ranch-woman. She said what I do is ordinary, it is all about being an ordinary woman doing what you do. It is different than what other people do at a 9-5 job. What is your job description? If you were to hire someone to do your job, what would they be required to do to fill your shoes? What is also something funny you could tell them about, to let them know it is okay. What are some unexpected things that could and has happened both positive and maybe not.
What are some of the things you have learnt about on your journey that could help a young woman who had just married into the ranching way of life? Doesn't have to be a life story as I thought of at first. Can be short and to the point. 1500 word count on Microsoft Word. You can get copyrights for the story too if you choose, so that I cannot reprint it anywhere else, excepting to what you allow me to.
If you are writing out your mother's/grandmother's story, use the same ideas. I can send you a story of a grandmother, if you send me your email to mrs.bee09@gmail.com, to use as a template.
Send two recipes along as well and if they have stories attached around families eating the item in the recipe, all the better. Photos are welcome too. Send via the internet if possible. Copyright also pertains to them.
